On behalf of our citizens, the village board of trustees, and its staff, thank you for visiting us and taking the time to learn more about our community.
Our citizens have justifiable pride in our businesses and employment opportunities; pride in our schools and the opportunities for our children; and pride of living among caring friends, old and new, in a family oriented community.
Marathon City is a picturesque village, built on a hillside along the Rib River. We are located on Highway 29, the main expressway between Green Bay and Minneapolis, and just 10 miles west of Wausau and I-39. The village is just a short drive from many Northern Wisconsin attractions.
Our 1,600 residents have the best of all worlds. We enjoy the comfort and safety that living in a small, prosperous village provides. Yet, we have the convenience of big city amenities and outdoor recreational opportunities just minutes away. This is what makes our village such a great place to live.
Marathon City is poised for growth. Our recently developed business park along Highway 29 is filling up, but still has prime lots available for business development. Our newly renovated Main Street on Highway 107, with its brickwork and quaint street lighting, makes our downtown an inviting place to shop or share a meal with friends.
Come and visit us soon.
