Street Maintenance

The Streets Department is responsible for maintaining about 17 miles of village-owned streets and about 6 blocks of paved public alleys, including snow plowing, maintenance of road surfaces and repair of curbs, gutters and storm sewers. Department staff also mows and maintains village parks and other village properties.
Every other Monday, from April through mid-October, Streets Department staff will chip brush and tree limbs and branches for residents in need of this service for a small fee. The fee is waved if the limbs are down because of storm damage. The chips can either be retained by the resident for mulch or removed to the village’s storage yard.
