Recycling

Recycling reduces the volume of materials that are transported to landfills and helps to protect environment. Proper disposal and recycling of electronics keeps harmful materials from entering landfill. The Village of Marathon City promotes recycling in our community through a number of programs.

Curbside Pick-up
The Village contracts for curbside pick-up of newspapers, magazines, cardboard, aluminum, tin, glass and other materials (see Curbside Data Sheet). Pick-up is schedule for every other week. Check the Village Calendar for next recycling pick-up date.

Annual Fall Cleanup
Each fall the Village provides for a village wide fall cleanup day allowing residents to bring larger items (mattresses, bed frames, old furniture, tires, etc.) to a central collection site in the Village for disposal. Residents are charged load to dispose of these items. Additionally, appliances and electronics are collected for e-cycling. Special fees apply for electronics and appliances.
