2023 Street Projects

It will be a busy road work season in the Village of Marathon City this year with plans to complete several major streets projects in 2023.  Work on Third Street from Main to Pine Street will consist of installation of larger water main, repaving, replacement of elements of the storm water collection system and replacement of curb between Main and Walnut Streets.  Second Street from Pine to East Street is slated for resurfacing.  Widening and paving of North Ridge Road will be completed as part of a sanitary sewer expansion project.  A new industrial access road will be constructed north of STH 29 to serve the North Marathon City Business Park and Cattail Lane will be extended and paved.

In addition, the State Department of Transportation will be re-decking the bridges over the Big Rib River and resurfacing STH 107 from North Street to Maratech Avenue.  Marathon County will be widening, installing some curb and gutter near the intersection of  8th Street and resurfacing CTH B in the Village.

As these projects get underway, we ask that you be aware of the construction zones, watch for detours and changing traffic patterns, give yourself more time to reach  your destination, be patient, minimize travel in these areas and watch for equipment and personnel working on these projects.  Above all we want everyone to have a safe construction season.
